Half a Pair

I have one half of a pair of socks done:

The second one will be started as soon as I get this posted. And it’s a good thing, too, considering what came in my mail today.

I couldn’t resist joining the Blue Moon Fiber Arts Rockin’ Sock Club. If you haven’t received your first box of goodies, and don’t want the surprise spoiled, look away now.

There’s a binder with the first month’s pattern, a bumper sticker, the club pin, and of course the hank of sock yarn. The color is Rainforest Jasper, and included is a tiny little hank of yarn on a keyring, labelled Emergency Sock Yarn.

I will NOT cast on for these until I finish the Candy Stripe Socks. Really. I’m going to start that second one right now.

  1. Oh, the Rockin’ Sock Club is closed! Probably for the best, as I have too many projects on the needles as it is.

  2. My box of goodies came today, too. Like you, I will finish my on the needles socks before starting these (stop laughing – I will! hee hee)

  3. How cruel to tempt us and then to find out the sock club is full! Cruel, cruel. Just as well, though I don’t need more sock yarn tempting me! Just out of curiosity – how much is it? Do I need to put myself on the wait list or should I just ogle yours?

  4. I really love your red Opal. Is it Opal 2002? I’ve been looking for some like yours. All I can find is a rust or a dark grey/blue. Don’t have a spare ball, do you?

  5. Hmmm, having seen the packages that arrived around blogland yesterday, I’m starting to regret that I didn’t join . . . oh well, too late now!

  6. It’s so much fun to get a package of unique sock goodness. Your red sock is fabulous and thanks for a bit of fun, too;-)

  7. Oh how I need some Emergency Yarn on a keychain with some Emergency Needles! Thanks, internet. Every day I discover something I didn’t know I needed. 🙂
Good luck with abstaining from casting on, Lorette!

  8. Did you join the KAL for the sock club? It’s at sockclubkal DOT bradandkris DOT COM
    try, it’s fun!

  9. Great 1/2 a pair of socks! I really like the color. And that’s really pretty yarn for the sock club sock….good thing it’s closed as I really don’t need yet another UFO, lol.

  10. Cute package. I wonder if they have full skein emergency yarn on a keychain? That wouldn’t be considered stash enhancement, that would just be necessity. Right?

  11. I’m just glad to know there’s another knitter in the Pacific Northwest who enjoys Chip & Carrie and Larry McMurtry. First time on your blog, thought I’d say hello.

  12. You lucky woman!!! The sock club is now full and I put myself on the waiting list!!
I’m so sorry I didn’t make it to Seattle to see you. My mother, who was visiting my sisters in Colorado, had two emergency heart procedures while there. I flew out to help take care of her. that put me behind in my schoolwork and I cancelled my trip.. But, maybe this early summer!
