I Deserve Only The Best

I received this little doctored-up photo from our good friends with whom we are supposed to be on vacation in Spain. If you don’t get the significance, read the last few posts. Yes, they both have a sick sense of humor, which is probably why we love them.

And yes, it was one of our Riedel wine glasses, just to add insult to injury. To answer another question from the comments, the wine was a nice sauvignon blanc from South Africa.

My next post will be a discussion of the positive implications of my hand injury. It’s taking me a while to come up with the list…

  1. OMG! I am so sorry to hear about this terrible injury. I’m glad you have a great OT who will hopefully have you back to normal in no time. I love the spoof. It’s good to have friends with a sense of humor. Get well soon!

  2. I love it! It’s best to have a sense of humor about these things – what else can you do? I once saw a handicapped license plate that read CLUTZ. 🙂

  3. Yes, I agree it is a little sick. But I would expect no less from good friends. I await your list with great anticipation.

  4. Here’s what you do: tell them Riedel makes STEMLESS glasses and to ensure the next trip goes through they might want to set you up with a set.

  5. Very funny. If you’re friends are anything like mine,(which it appears they are)there would have been some devious laughing and cackling going on whilst producing that little illustration.

  6. Oh, I have friends like that – don’t be too surprised if the next time you get together, they serve you your drink in a sippee cup – with a beer cozy around it!

  7. I have two comments relevant to said injury– the only wine glass(es) that I have ever broken have been Reidel. We used to have a 5 glass place setting for 10 people. I think I have smashed 3 various glasses. I have never smashed an irregular painted glass (my favorite) from the dollar store. I am banned by hubby from the good stuff.
Next, I recently had had surgery myself–though certainly nothing as bad. I found that if you can knit continental, you can use a very curved circular needle wedged into the swelling under your fingers. Continental is the key– your right hand doesn’t really have anything to do– a little wrist action, but everything else is lefty!! Good luck– and I highly recommend the new stemless glasses!! 8. That is why I don’t spend money on wine glasses–I like knowing that I didn’t lose the equivalent of 4 or 5 skeins of wool when one breaks.
As for the idle hand, I feel your frustration. I, too, am overwhelmingly right handed. I guess that’s what reading is for, huh? Hang in there, Lorette!

  9. I’m so sorry to read about your hand injury. Feel better soon and take care!
(If it’s any consolation the weather in Spain right now is still kind of chilly!)
