…with my old camera, that is.

Because today is my BIRTHDAY!!!!

It’s a Canon Digital Rebel XT, which I’ve been coveting but couldn’t quite justify just to take photos of yarn. My sweetheart knew that I needed a great camera to take pictures for the blog, so there you have it. What can I say, he spoils me.

Now I have to go knit some good stuff, so I can take some swell pictures to justify this baby.

And Dena, (new and improved-i.e.-correct spelling!) if you’re reading this; say “hi” in the comments! I was in the hospital deli this morning with a mouth full of donut when a woman came up to me and asked, “”Are you Lorette? I read your blog; I’m a knitter, too.”  I was so surprised that I truly acted like a dork. I hope we run into each other again! Say “hi” if you see me again…maybe I’ll have the presence of mind to actually have a conversation!

  6. Happy Birthday to you!! I had a grandbaby just so I could justify buying a new camera. The lengths we go to. Of course, I actually bought it to take pictures of yarn, but the grandbaby thing sounds a little nobler! Will expect great pictures of Rogue!

I seriously considered getting it in August, but decided that I couldn’t justify that much splurging on myself for one item that wasn’t a computer or a car or something! But . . . so tempting! You’re going to have some seriously wonderful pictures.

  16. Drool is running down my chin as I type. Okay well maybe not, but um virtual drool is. I love that camera, I’ve been coveting one ever since they came out. I have several SLR Canon cameras that the lenses will fit and work on the digital, so one day, it too wil be mine. Can’t wait to see the amazing pictures you will take.

  22. You will love your new digi Rebel. I get comments on how great my pics are even when they aren’t really good — the camera just takes wonderful rez. You can crop to tiny stuff, too. Congrats and happy happy b-day!
