Remember way back when, I had a new grand-niece named Riley, born in March? And how I knit her a Wallaby that was several sizes too big for her? It now fits.
Here’s the photo from April, when I finished the thing. She was just a couple weeks old then.
That picture still just cracks me up. Here’s a recent photo. Her parents took her camping, and it was cool enough for her to wear the thing.
Click on that photo to get the full measure of her cuteness.
And if you want a closer view of just how cute she is, here’s another one.
Makes you want one of your own, eh?
She is adorable! Do I want one of my own? –
Well, twist my arm…
OMG!! She is adorable!!
Such cute pic of her in the huge pullover but MY has she grown!
Very cute!
She is a little doll baby! It’s amazing how fast they change. She is going to be a heartbreaker! And that really is a Wonderful Wallaby:)
Um, no, not another one, now that they’re all grown and GONE and all I have to do is pick up my grandchildren, squeeze them, spoil them for a few hours then take them home, but i have to admit, she is absolutely precious in that sweater she grew to wear.
OOOOOH I am soooo lucky.. a couple at church just had a little baby girl.. woo I am set now!! Baby fixes every week!!! MWah ahhaha Which is good cause now we are tied at 4 with them!!!
Your grand neice is precious!!
She is absolutely darling. But, been there, done that, waiting for grandkids.
The camping picture — I love it! It looks like she’s saying, “ooh! I’m having my picture taken!”
Great update pics! She is cute!
Oh, that pixie face! And that happy sweater! And those eyelashes! Awww!
The Then and Now is priceless.
Awwww – what a lovely lucky little lady. I love the first picture. It looks like she’ll never ever possibly grow into her sweater. Such a cutie!
Pretty doggone cute! I can’t believe that’s she’s in to the Wallaby already. Maybe you should start knitting another one in a bigger size.
Oh! Oh! That is an illegal level of cuteness!
The only way I want one of my own is if someone else takes it home at the end of the day … 😉
How unbelievably adorable. She is one cute kid!
I agree with Dorothy! You should start knitting her another one in a bigger size! 🙂
And she is pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself! 😉 But then again, I *AM* her mom!
Two is plenty, thanks just the same. Or do you mean a grandniece? That would be cool.
Yeah, that’s a whole lot of cute right there… and yeah, it does!
Little Riley is just too cute in that sweater. Great job.
Awww! She’s adorable! I’m still able to resist having one of my own though. 😉
Riley is a heart throb 🙂
me? oh no… I’m waiting for grand babies some day.
Yes, she is very cute and no it does not. 🙂
Makes me want one what? wallaby? Oh yea! I definitely want a wallaby… anything else …bite your tongue. Been there, done that 🙂
It is toooooooooo cute and she is sooooooooo sweet! Where can I find the wallaby pattern and what yarn did you use?
great minds think alike! i’ve got a wallaby in my queue. looks so cute knit up and even cuter on an adorable baby. i want at least one kid before my ovaries dry up, we’ll see if it happens, LOL. very sweet and cute looking niece!
World class cuteness.
She’s absolutely adorable! Heh, no, it just makes me glad I have my own cute niece!
Such a cutie!! Pink is definately her color.
Sweet baby in a sweet sweater. My parents purchased a snowsuit for me when I was an infant–and I wore that snowsuit until I was 3. They folded over the arms and legs when I was tiny, and I guess I tripped over the long legs for a couple of years until the thing finally fit!!

Oh my! Isn’t that precious.
VERY cute!!!, but no, I don’t need another of my own… and I’m not ready for grandchildren yet, either. Give me another 5 yrs or so, then I’ll be ready!
awwww…..
What a cutie! She has such a sweet face. The wallaby looks great on her, too. How’d she grow so fast?!
She’s such a cutie! Perfect timing for the sweater to fit; she’ll get plenty of wear out of it now 🙂
Very very cute. And sobering how fast they grow.
Man, they grow fast! She looks adorable and it looks great on her!
Hi Lorette!! The sweetest thing happened to me yesterday morning!
I was doing a bit of knitting with one of my knitting students at Panera in Wichita, KS and this guy walked by, stopped to browse an abandoned newspaper for the sudoku puzzle and overheard us chatting about knit and purl stitches (it was probably obvious that we were knitting anyway).
He said, Oh, you’d like my neighbor – she has a knitting blog. I said, Oh? So do I! After some concentrated pondering and finally two phone calls to locate your husband he told me his neighbor is the Knitting Doctor! I said, OH, I know who that is! hehe
What a small world. It was a lovely surprise and evidence that knitting binds us all in wonderful ways!
