I decided to give the blog a new look! A little remodeling and renovation never hurts, I say. What do you all think?
John says “thanks” for the compliments on his new sweater. I still haven’t managed to get it away from him for a good blocking. I guess it will do just as it is.
I have started a new project:
It’s the Cobblestone sweater from the Fall Interweave Knits. The yarn is Classic Elite Skye Tweed, Tapestry. It’s a little weird to knit with, sort of rough and “stringy” feeling, but once it’s washed and blocked it gets very lovely. This one will be for me!
I’ve also gotten far enough into the do-over of the Madeline Tosh Amaranth sock to show another picture. This one should actually fit. I’m surprised at how different the stripes look just by adding a few stitches around. The first photo is the too-small sock, on fewer stitches, just for comparison.
There you go! I’m off to forage for lunch.
Um, it looks ok in IE… but I only checked it in IE because it looked so obviously wrong/weird in Firefox… 🙁
What a fun sock!
I’m on Firefox and it looks good to me!
I’ve got a Cobblestone on the needles for me too…. I guess I should get back to it!
It looks great! I like the two columns….hmmmm…don’t tempt me to change mine..
I do love the Cobblestone… I can’t wait to see how you like the Skye tweed once you’re done. I have 3 balls of it in my stash, and no idea what to do with it! :0)
Great new digs!
From one knitting doctor to another, I love the new blog.
looks fantastic in safari just incase you’re wondering, too 🙂 oh how i miss having a man who requested pink socks… my boy was a roofer, and BOY could he wear pink!
Love the new look!
Hmmm – on my computer the facelift consists of everything but your post being gone – no banner, no sidebar. I’ll try back later – don’t know if it’s you or me! I keep eyeing Cobblestone. It’s so simple and elegant.
I like the new look. The two side columns are especially nice.
The banners and side bars are not showing in Firefox. I liked the banner with the stethoscope and the knitting needles. Another mens sweater?
Facelift? I thought your specialty was internal medicine? Nice facelift!
I like the new blog look. And your husband’s sweater is fabulous! You did an excellent job. And he’s a cutie, too. LOL!
Love the new digs!
And that sock is gorgeous!
Ah, blocking, shmocking. If he likes it, leave it.
And the new layout is very nice!
The blog looks great (I’m using Safari).
The Cobblestone sweater for John looks great on him. I’ve given up going beyond the basic “male” colors for DH.
Looks nice!
I have a friend who made the Cobblestone sweater for her boyfriend, and it was fabulous when it was finished. She said he really loves it too.
Have enjoyed your posts for some time. I too live and knit in Seattle and love it!! Anything with green hills and trees looks good to me. The sweater you made your husband would be great for my husband as he too is a basics only kinda guy. I looked at PeaceFleece and love the color options. How soft is it?
what a fun refreshing new look to your blog – maybe me want to houseclean too (but not just now, as I need to hire a computer-wizard to do it.. grin)
the socks are looking much better in the new size. love the stripes.
Great new look…and you’ve been tagged!
Love the new digs!
I’ve been meaning to do it, too, but I’m change resistant. It’s a bit busier, but keeps the eye moving and that’s supposed to be a good thing.

And oh yes, growing up Catholic, we used to call that shade Blessed Mother blue 😉
Like the new look. 🙂 You going on another trip??
I like your new blog look. Very spiffy. And congrats on starting a sweater for yourself. The socks are great–I like th uneven striping.I’m impressed with your ability not to purchase yarn. I vowed to knit only from stash in ’08, but then I learned that Tiur was no longer available. So, I ordered five sweaters worth of Tiur from various suppliers. That’s my only purchase, and I’m saying it doesnt count!
Oh I have to go away for awhile and all is changed with the net world. heehee At least I’m here to see it now.
It’s nice to be back.
How are you?
🙂
nice look, and the knitting is great!
The blog looks good!
Big difference in 68 stitch socks vs 64 stitch socks IMHO. Go figure.
Dear Lorette
I loved the new look of your blog.
