Project Details:
Creamy Alpaca Warm Neck Thing
Pattern: Lacy Baktus
Needles: Vintage faux tortoise shell straights, 4.00 mm
Yarn: Classic Elite Inca Alpaca, cream, 3 skeins. From Deep Stash, Bin #1
For: Well, me. But John put it around his neck and thinks that it would be just the thing for roaming around the streets of Boston this week. Though he refused to let me take a modeling photo, so I don’t know. I think it’s still technically mine.
What I Learned:
1: It’s great to knit out of stash!
2: I really hate doing posts on my iPad! Really. It sucks.
3: Conferences are terrific for finishing things. I was the only one that was knitting, in a room of a couple hundred people. No wonder they were all dozing off.
Next up: the BROWN alpaca from the same bin. Stay tuned to see what it will be!
Looks warm and cozy! You could share this one while you whip up another from the brown tomorrow, hee, hee!
Y’know. I think I have some of that exact yarn in that same exact shade! That looks great & I can just imagine how great it would feel. Won’t be near my stash until around Jan 10. I’ll have to set a reminder to myself to knit something similar. Need something cozy to get hrough this winter & I deserve a treat after knitting THREE Wsllabies in a row since August. I figured it out & I snow knit 7 of them – including one that I had completely forgotten about. My granddaughter pulled it out of one of the closets in her parents’ room. It’s purple do I must’ve knit it for the middle grand about 5-6 years ago – when he was about 4 or 5 & in love with purple. I think it’ll be quite awhile before I knit another.
Looks great with that red! Looks very warm as well. Job well done!
Oh that is pretty, and I can only imagine how good it feels around your neck!
Congratulations on another FO, and have a good week at the conference.
I am so proud of you with your multi-tasking abilities! The warm neck thing is beautiful!
Looks very cute!
Congratulations! You are really making a dent in that stash!
Most of the time I am not the only one knitting at conferences. That is probably because most of the Travel Med meetings include a lot of nurses who have no qualms about knitting anywhere and everywhere.
I still don’t usually sit in the front row with knitting needles….
Perfect conference knitting! And delightfully warm, too. I find that if my neck and feet are warm, I am pretty much comfortable.
Your cowl is just gorgeous! Are you modeling it at the top of the Prudential Center? Can’t wait to see what you finish next.
Very nice–and you will need it this week in Boston.
Ha! I knitted all the way through my paralegal studies!!
