It’s Here!

Now you all know what I’ll be doing today. And if you live near me and haven’t gotten yours yet, the FedEx guy said he had 14 more to deliver before 10:30.

There will be knitting in the next post, really.

And if you have no clue what that box is, you need to just get a Mac! It’s Leopard, the new operating system for Mac, just launched today. I’m off to play.

My name is Lorette. I learned to knit in 1999, and took up spinning in 2009. I'm a physician specializing in internal medicine, and live in the Pacific Northwest. Enjoy my blog!

  1. This means we’ll either hear from you more (wanting to use it), or less (too busy doing other things with it) …
    In any event, enjoy!

  2. Let us how you like it. I usually wait till all the major bugs are worked out before I buy a new OS (my computer is my livelihood), but I’m thinking of making an exception this time.

  3. I’m going to wait and see before whipping out the plastic. I jumped the gun, buying iLife 08 before the bugs were worked out of iWeb. At least I didn’t lose my web site like some upgraders did. It was one of the few times in my Mac life that I was soooo grateful I had a back up.
Please let us know your impressions of Leapord once it’s up and running.

  4. Gotta love blogdom. Where else would I have gained such valuable information about pop culture? I had no idea what that was. I figured you were an X-men junkie and it was the latest DVD. Now I feel soooo cool for being in the know. Thanks for the tip. I hope it’s all you wished for.

  5. Let us know what you think! I’m planning on a new MacBook in the spring, so will *probably* wait to upgrade then. Probably…..

  6. Ahem, I knew what it was. Me of the no Mac persuasion. I do have a t.v.
    lol
But I have an Ipod, so I guess that blows that little ditty all to heck and back huh?
    Ooh, pretty colors.
    Have fun with that.
(Excuse the weirdness, home alone watching horror movies.)

  7. how ironic. I’m sitting here drinking my morning coffee and my husband has his headphones on in his Mac listening to Apple’s presentation on Leopard. He keeps stopping it to tell me about it.

  8. Not a MAC girl either, but devotees say it is awesome. ENJOY! Get the bugs figured out before Thursday! I joined the Nano Writers too juts because of “peer” pressure….

  9. I’ll anxiously be awaiting your report. My Mac is about 4 years old now and I’m thinking I’ll just wait until I replace my computer. I’m really excited about Boot Camp being integral as I do have some Windows based programs I can’t run. But I’d definitely install XP, not Vista. Are you going to utilize that?

  10. Speaking of knitting, I’m doing some serious “stress knitting” on a shawl I just started with some Schaeffer “Anne”. It’s just a plain old triangle garter stitch shawl, but sometimes “plain vanilla” knitting is what calms me. (It’ll take forever to make it, though, cuz I’m doing it on size 1’s. Maybe I’ll dress it up with a lace border once it’s done….ten years from now….)

  11. I’m holding out for a new mac…maybe early next year…maybe sooner…ooh ooh. All you early Leopard adopters are pushing me into a huge splurge!!! Have fun with it.

  12. I’m a fairly new mac user who was getting tired of constantly cleaning crap off of the PC so switched. I too am waiting for the bugs to be fixed. My DS works for a mac dealer and suggested I wait for a wee bit before upgrading.

  13. wow lorette, you have left us all hanging!!! I check about once a week for a new post and you have just abandoned ship. We all miss you!!! Post soon!!!

  14. Hi Lorette, love the mittens you just made! Here in Minnesota, it is definitely mitten time. And hat, scarf, and all the heavy gear to keep warm. I think I am close to trying to knit a little bit, my hand after 5 months is moving about half of it’s former self. Good to read your posts again, and congratultions on the new pup!
