Sigh

And the blog is sort of fixed. The posts from the past 2 weeks weren’t backed up, but I think there were only one or two. I have no freaking idea how I managed to delete the blog, but I’m very glad that on a whim I added a blog backup plugin in February. I’m going to upgrade that to something more robust, since it took all freaking afternoon to get things restored, and lots of photos didn’t get reattached to the blog posts they were supposed to accompany. I’ll probably fix at least the more recent ones. We are busy “socially distancing” ourselves here, so it’s not like I don’t have time.

This morning we woke up to this:

Covid-19, Friday the 13th, a full moon (which I apparently won’t see due to the weather), the fact that I live in one of the epicenters of the US epidemic (as a front-line primary care clinician), and snow. With all the recent commotion, I might just have ditched the no yarn-buying policy and added some things to the stash. I’ll take pictures when it arrives, assuming we still have mail service.

Stay warm, stay well, and keep on knitting!

  1. So sorry for all your hassles. On the other hand, I’ve been on a yarn diet and I would think this would be a perfect excuse to buy yarn. Lots and lots of yarn.

Hope tomorrow is a better day.

  2. Looks like a picture postcard. Take care of yourself, Lorette. The correct prescription does definitely sound like more yarn! Tee, hee, hee.

  3. I’ve been trying to use stash yarn for awhile, however, I want to support indie dyers. I’m being very selective about my purchases but want to help someway.

  4. Elder Son is a primary care physician with the Indian Health Service on the Zuni reservation in New Mexico. As I type this there are 57 confirmed cases in NM, and as of Friday night when we last talked to him, there were none on the rez. He said he has a new way of leaving work at the end of the day/shift. He calls his girlfriend at home to tell her he is on his way — it is a two-minute walk — so she can open the garage doors for him. Once he is in the garage he takes off all his clothes, throws them in a plastic tub set out for that purpose, and heads straight into the shower. When the tub gets full he does the laundry for them so she never has to touch it. So far, so good.
